Times have not changed

Started by: PeterP (11334)

In the paper today about a train driver refusing to take out a train because of overcrowding. Over 40 years ago we went from Wigan to Stone in Staffs . We just managed to get on the train at Wigan and stood at the door all the way to Crewe . We then changed to the local train and ended up in the goods van it was that crowded. On the way home the following w/end we had to go into the goods van again to Crewe. When we got on the train from Crewe to Wigan it was full but I found empty seats in 1st class and that is were we sat all the way back to Wigan

He's not a fare dodger, he paid for a seat and there was none, he's entitled to an upgrade so he used in initiative.

TTS the guard came along and I explained what had happened on my last 3 trains and he did not move us out of 1st class so no fare dodging

"He's not a fare dodger, he paid for a seat and there was none,"

If he paid for a seat reservation surely the seat would still be there, unless they ripped them out?
